The fish and birds on this website are in the watercolor medium.
The various fish species, with the one exception being the Florida Pompano, are all native to or can be found in the waters of the northern Bahama Islands.
The coloration of individual species is often times difficult to replicate. Every attempt is made to portray in my watercolor painting the coloration of the fish specie as it leaves the water. Sometimes this "snapshot" in time is not always possible. Also, there are more than a few factors that can alter the coloration within a given specie such as the sex, depth of water from which the fish is taken, seabed characteristics such as grass or coral heads, regional variations and cross-breeding. At the end of the day, my paintings are not to be viewed as taxonomic studies, but simply my attempt to capture a likeness as I saw it.
